Plant your roots in Christ and let Him be the foundation for your life.” Colossians 2:7 CEV

The essence of planting is in the roots — without them, you would have nothing to plant! Planting is also all about the soil and the nutrients it provides.

1 Corinthians 13:13 depicts love as the most important thing in life — the most important foundation and soil for any heart. 1 John 4:8 says that “God is love”. So we see that the roots of our lives are to be planted deeply in the most important and nutrient-rich soil: Christ, who is love.

Living in this busy world, we have to re-plant our roots in Christ every day, so that they may be filled with the God-kind-of-life that gives strength to every branch. As we do that–as we build our foundation upon the great building block of Christ’s love–we will grow to be “oaks of righteousness…the planting of the Lord.” (Isaiah 61:3, AMP)

That is my goal. How about yours?

“I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:14 NKJV
